What is Seerah?
Seerah is an Arabic word whose literal meaning is Biography.
But us Muslims, generally when we talk about Seerah we mean Seerat un Nabi PBUH.
Why Study the Seerah?
As Allah highlights in the Quran, in Surah Al-Ahzab,
“There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern”
Understanding this pattern is crucial because the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the practical application of the Quran, addressing our personal, social, and global dilemmas. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was deeply integrated into society, providing guidance on everything from family life to governance, embodying patience and progress even through hardships.
His leadership in just 23 years led to a transformation that saw the Bedouins of Arabia rise to challenge and conquer the superpowers of their time through unmatched faith and courage.
Love Mohammad (PBUH)
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the depth of this connection in Sahih Bukhari, where he stated, “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all mankind.” This deep love and reverence for the Prophet (PBUH) is a core part of our faith that we aim to cultivate through our courses insha’Allah.
